Jenkins Estate
Located on the Northwestern slopes of Cooper Mountain, Jenkins Estate is a beautiful 68 acre restored country home and public park.  Originally settled with a donation land claim in 1859 by the Charles Merrell family.  Several years later it was sold to Ralph and Belle Jenkins.  In 1975, the property was finally purchased by Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, and is open to the public year round.  See historic Jenkins photos »

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue - Cooper Mountain Station 69
Less than half a mile from Kemmer View residents, our local Fire Crew is always at hand to serve and rescue. What you may not know is that you can stop by and get a tour of their station most days. Great excitement and education for the kids (and adults).  May we suggest bringing a batch of cookies to show your appreciation for our true local heros.  Read more »

Life on top of Cooper Mountain

One of the interesting things new homeowners often discover at 770+ feet up, is just how different the climate can be. Often waking to gorgeous morning sunrises above the cloud and fog layer, occasionally socked right in the thick of the sweeping clouds.

Often windy, and certainly more harsh in the winters, temperatures usually are 3 to 7 degrees cooler than on the valley floor. If there is a threat of snow, you'll usually find it here first. And when there is snow at the valley floor, you can expect 2 to 4" more at the top.

Summers are less intense often cooled with a gentle breeze, Spring starts a couple weeks later, and Fall starts a little sooner on the mountain, but one thing is for sure... the four mountain views (Mt Rainier, Mt. Saint Helens, Mt. Adams, and Mt Hood) are fantastic to look at year-round!
